Suchitra Ramadurai (also known as RJ Suchi) is an Indian radio jockey, playback singer, actress, and author born on 14 August 1982 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Her father is Ramadurai J. and her mother is Padmaja. She has a sister named Sunitha. She graduated in BSc from Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, and completed an MBA from PSG Institute of Management, Coimbatore. She began her media career as an RJ at Radio Mirchi, hosting the popular morning show Hello Chennai, and later Flight983. Her singing career took off when music director Harris Jayaraj cast her, and she has since lent her voice to numerous Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam films - winning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer - Tamil for Sir Osthara from Paradesi (2013). Her other popular songs include Mayakkam Enna (Velayudham), Kutti Pisase (Aadhavan), and Ennamo Yedho (Ko). She has also appeared in Tamil films as an actress (Jay Jay, Aayutha Ezhuthu, Bale Pandiya) and served as a dubbing artist in numerous films. An acclaimed short story writer, she won the Commonwealth Short Story Competition in 2003-04 (The Runaway Peppercorn) and 2005-06 (Chinna and Muthu). She was formerly married to comedian-actor Karthik Kumar (2005-2017). In 2020, she entered Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4 as a wildcard contestant in Week 4 and was evicted in Week 7, finishing 15th.
