Bio
Suresh Chakravarthi (full name: K.J. Suresh Chakravarthi) is an Indian actor, director, television host, chef, and YouTuber born on 15 July 1964 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He lost his parents early in life - his father when he was nine and his mother at twenty - and was supported by his sister, the acclaimed actress-director Sripriya. He studied at St. Bede's High School, Chennai, and graduated from the University of Madras. He made his acting debut in the Telugu film Prema (1989) and his Tamil debut in K. Balachander's Azhagan (1991). He went on to appear in films such as Kanimozhi, Raasi, Vaali, Citizen, and Villain, and in more recent years in Nenjuku Needhi (2022), Aneethi (2023), Maaveeran (2023), and Brother (2024). As a director, he helmed Sun TV's interactive show Pepsi Ungal Choice (1994). He is also a celebrated chef and restaurateur, founding The Madras Banyan Tree restaurant chain in Melbourne, Australia. During the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, he launched the YouTube channel Chak's Kitchen, which became very popular for South Indian recipes. He is married to Srikala Suresh and has a son. In 2020, he participated in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4 and was evicted in Week 5, finishing 16th. He also participated in Bigg Boss Ultimate (2022).
