Syed Sohel Ryan (born 18 April 1991 in Hyderabad, Telangana) is an Indian actor who works in the Telugu film and television industry. Born into a Muslim family from Hyderabad, his father is Syed Salim and he has a younger brother, Syed Sabeel. He lost his mother on 17 September 2024. He did his schooling at Silver Oaks International School, Hyderabad, and graduated from Osmania University. His friends and family call him Munna. He has harboured a desire to act since childhood and made his first on-screen appearance in the Telugu film Kotha Bangaru Lokam (2008) in a minor role alongside Varun Sandesh and Shweta Prasad. His subsequent film credits include D for Dopidi (2013), Pichiga Nachav, Janatha Garage, Sarrainodu, Konapuram Lo Jarigina Katha (2019), and Eureka (2020). On television, he earned recognition as Arjun in the Star Maa daily soap Krishnaveni (2016-2020) and also appeared in the serials Pasupu Kumkuma, Nathicharami, and Guntur Mirchi. Post-Bigg Boss, he appeared in Lucky Lakshman (2022), Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu (2023), Mr. Pregnant (2023), and Bootcut Balaraju (2024). In 2020, Syed Sohel participated in Bigg Boss Telugu Season 4, where his physical endurance, strategic thinking, and signature phrase 'Katha veruntadhi' made him one of the season's most popular contestants, nicknamed 'iSmart Sohel' by fans. He finished third at the finale on 20 December 2020, choosing to walk out of the house with a prize of ₹25 lakh, following 104 days in the house.
