Tanishaa Mukerji is an Indian actress born on 3 March 1978 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, into the celebrated Mukherjee-Samarth film family. Her father is filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee and her mother is veteran actress Tanuja; she is the younger sister of Bollywood superstar Kajol. She completed her schooling in Mumbai and later earned a postgraduate degree in fine arts from UCLA, Los Angeles. She made her Bollywood debut in the thriller Sssshhh... (2003) and has since appeared in films including Neal 'N' Nikki (2005), One Two Three (2008), and the Tamil film Aayutha Ezhuthu (2004). She also appeared in several international projects. In 2013, she entered Bigg Boss Season 7, where her highly public relationship with co-contestant Armaan Kohli was a major talking point of the season. She finished as the runner-up on 28 December 2013.
