Kavita Kaushik (born 15 February 1981 in New Delhi) is an Indian actress and television host, daughter of CRPF officer Dinesh Chandra Kaushik. She was called 'Mitthu' at home and grew up in Nainital, Uttarakhand, where she attended All Saints School. She graduated in Philosophy from Indraprastha College for Women, Delhi. She began her career in modelling and anchoring before debuting in television with Ekta Kapoor's Kutumb. She appeared in serials including Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kumkum, and Kahani Terrii Merrii before her career-defining role as the boisterous, morally upright Sub-Inspector Chandramukhi Chautala in SAB TV's F.I.R. (2006–2015, over 1,500 episodes), for which she won multiple major television awards including the Gold Award, ITA Award, and Indian Television Academy Award. She made her Bollywood debut with a notable role in Zanjeer (2013) and has appeared in several other films. She married actor Ronnit Biswas in 2017. In October 2020, she entered Bigg Boss 14 as an original contestant. She was evicted on Day 10, but re-entered as a wildcard on Day 47 (Week 7). She voluntarily walked out of the house on Day 74 (Week 11), finishing 19th overall.
