Sonali Phogat (born 30 January 1975 in Fatehabad, Haryana) was an Indian actress, politician, TikTok star, and sister of Olympic wrestler Babita Phogat (whose family was the subject of the film Dangal). She was the BJP candidate for the Adampur constituency in the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections, narrowly losing by 1,755 votes. She is also known for the Haryanvi web series Amma. She built an enormous TikTok following of over 26 million, and became one of North India's most prominent social media celebrities. In January 2021, she entered Bigg Boss 14 as a wildcard contestant in Week 12 and was evicted in Week 17 (Day 110), finishing 12th overall. Sonali Phogat died on 22 August 2022 under controversial circumstances in Goa while on a trip with her aides. An autopsy revealed blunt force injuries and traces of methamphetamine. Her two aides — Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Singh — were arrested and charged with her murder. Her daughter Yashodhara is her only child.
