Nora Fatehi (नोरा फतेही), full name Nora Fatehi, is a Moroccan-Canadian dancer, actress, singer, and producer born on 6 February 1992 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to a Moroccan-Arab family. Her parents hail from Morocco and she has a younger brother, Omer. She attended Westview Centennial Secondary School, Toronto, and studied Political Science and International Relations at York University. Self-taught in dance (primarily belly dance, hip-hop, and Bollywood styles), she arrived in Mumbai with reportedly just ₹5,000 in hand, worked at a hookah bar initially, and modelled for various brands before breaking into Bollywood. She speaks English, Hindi, Arabic, and French. She made her Indian film debut in Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans (2014), followed by Telugu and Malayalam film item numbers in Temper (2015), Baahubali: The Beginning (2015, 'Manohari'), Kick 2 (2015), Double Barrel (2016), and Kayamkulam Kochunni (2018). She signed with T-Series as an exclusive artist in February 2019. Her career-defining moment came with the recreated 'Dilbar' for Satyameva Jayate (2018) — which crossed 20 million YouTube views in 24 hours — followed by 'O Saki Saki' (Batla House, 2019), 'Garmi' (Street Dancer 3D, 2020), 'Kusu Kusu' (2021), 'Jehda Nasha' (2022), and 'Manike' (2022). On 6 March 2021, 'Dilbar' became the first song by an African-Arab artist to reach 1 billion YouTube views. She performed at the FIFA World Cup 2022 Closing Ceremony in Qatar. In 2022, the Enforcement Directorate questioned her in a money laundering case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. In December 2015, she entered Bigg Boss 9 (Double Trouble) as the third wildcard contestant (Week 9, Day 60). She was evicted on Day 83 (Week 12), finishing ninth overall.
