Chandan Achar is a Kannada film and theatre actor born on 2 August 1990 in Krishnarajapura (K.R. Nagara), Mysuru district, Karnataka. He is an alumnus of the Journalism and Mass Communication department at the prestigious Maharaja's College, Mysore. He trained in acting at theatre guru Mandya Ramesh's Natana institute in Mysore. Active in drama during his college years, he made his film debut with a minor role in Diganth's Parijatha (2012). His career-defining role came in the hugely popular Kannada college romantic comedy Kirik Party (2016, dir. Rishab Shetty), in which he played a pivotal supporting role. His performance earned him the SIIMA Award for Best Supporting Actor (Male) in 2017. He followed this with Mugulu Nage (2017, opposite Ganesh), Chemistry of Kariyappa (2019, his first lead role), and several other Kannada productions including Raju Hirani (2019). He made his Tamil debut with a role in Kannaen Kannaen. In October 2019, he entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 7 as the 12th contestant introduced on the launch night. He competed for 97 days before being evicted in Week 14, finishing 8th overall.
