Harish Raj is a Kannada film actor and director from Bengaluru, Karnataka. He completed his MA in English from Karnataka State Open University. He built a career primarily in artistic, critically acclaimed Kannada cinema rather than mainstream commercial fare. He is best known for his performances in the acclaimed films Dweepa (2002, dir. Girish Kasaravalli — a National Award winner), Koormavatara (2013), Thaayi Saheba (2013), and Kaanuru Heggadathi (2013), each of which brought him recognition in Karnataka's parallel cinema circuit. He has also taken on occasional directing assignments. In October 2019, he entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 7 as the 18th and final contestant introduced on the launch night — described by host Sudeep as a 'multifaceted talent'. He was evicted on Day 107, finishing 6th overall.
