Jai Jagadish (born 19 June 1954) is a veteran Kannada film actor, director, and producer from Somwarpet, Kodagu district, Karnataka. A stalwart of Kannada cinema with a career spanning nearly five decades, he debuted as hero in Phalitamsha (1976) and went on to appear in over 300 Kannada films in lead, supporting, and character roles. His most celebrated films include Gaali Maathu (1981), Garjane (1981), Benkiyalli Aralida Hoovu (1983), Bandhana (1984), and Madhuve Madu Tamashe Nodu (1984). In 1990 he turned producer, producing successes like Bhoomi Thayiya Chochchala Maga and the Filmfare Award-winning Kothigalu Saar Kothigalu. He made his directorial debut with Madana (2006). He has two families: a daughter Arpita from his first wife Roopa, and three daughters — Vaibhavi and twins Vaisiri and Vainidhi — with his second wife, actress Vijayalakshmi Singh. In October 2019, he entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 7 as the 7th contestant introduced on the launch night. He was evicted in Week 5 (Day 34), finishing 16th overall.
