Adoney T. John is an Indian research scholar, orator, and television personality from Mundakayam, Kottayam, Kerala. His father is a farmer and his mother was a homemaker. He has a younger brother named Anant T. John. He did his schooling at CMS High School, Mundakayam, and St. Joseph's Higher Secondary School, Peruvanthanam. He earned a BA in Politics from Baselius College, Kottayam, an MA in Political Science from Maharaja's College, Ernakulam, and an MPhil in International Relations and Political Science from the same institution. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Political Science at Maharaja's College, Ernakulam, with research focused on Europe's refugee crisis. His research papers have been published in national and international journals. He is an accomplished orator, having won numerous inter-college elocution and debate competitions. He was the runner-up at the Kerala edition of the Federal Bank Speak for India competition in 2019. He works as faculty at Emric Learning and as guest faculty at Baselius College. He appeared on television shows including Manya Mahajanangale, Oru Nimisham, and Udan Panam. He was given the unique responsibility inside the Bigg Boss house of selecting the Week 12 Captain (he chose Anoop Krishnan). He entered Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 3 on 14 February 2021, representing an academic and intellectual voice within the house. He was evicted in Week 11, finishing eleventh.
