
Saranya Anand is an Indian actress, dancer, choreographer, and model born in Surat, Gujarat, to Anandan R. and Sujatha Anand. She grew up in Adoor, Pathanamthitta, Kerala, and attended St. Thomas English Medium Higher Secondary School there. She later pursued a BSc in Nursing from Mangalore University, Karnataka. She began her career as a model while in Class 10, appearing in a TV advertisement for Mahindra Scorpio. Her acting journey started as an assistant choreographer on the Malayalam film Amen (2013), before her acting debut in 1971: Beyond Borders (2017). She subsequently appeared in Achayans (2017), Cappuccino (2017), Chunkzz (2017), Thanaha (2018), Chanakya Thanthram (2018), Mamangam (2019), Aakasha Ganga 2 (2019), and Garudan (2023). Her most celebrated TV role was the negative character Vedika in Kudumbavilakku (Asianet, 2020), which won her the Asianet Television Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role (2022). She and her husband Manesh Rajan Nair (married 4 November 2020 at Guruvayoor Temple) also won the Golden Buzzer Couple award on Dancing Stars (Asianet, 2022). Her younger sister Divyadarshana Anand won Miss Kerala 2020. In March 2024, she entered Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 6. She was eliminated in Week 9, finishing fifteenth.
Her role as the antagonist Vedika in the popular Asianet serial Kudumbavilakku (2020), for which she won the Asianet Television Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role (2022); her appearances in Malayalam films including Mamangam (2019), Thanaha (2018), and Aakasha Ganga 2 (2019); her sister Divyadarshana Anand being Miss Kerala 2020; winning the Golden Buzzer Couple award on Dancing Stars (2022) with her husband.
