Yashika Aannand (also spelled Yashika Aanand) is an Indian actress and model born on 4 August 1999 in New Delhi, into a Punjabi Hindu family. After her family relocated to Chennai, she completed her schooling at Sherwood Hall school in Chetpet, Chennai. She made her Tamil film debut in Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru (2016), a critically acclaimed thriller directed by D. Rajasekhar, followed by the adult comedy film Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu (2018), shot in Thailand. She was listed by Chennai Times as one of the Most Desirable Women on Television in 2018. Subsequent films include Zombie (2019, animated), Kalavani Mappillai, and Pyaar Prema Kaadhal. In 2018, she participated in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 2 - she had earlier been approached for Season 1 but declined - and was evicted on Day 97, finishing 5th. On 24 July 2021, she was involved in a serious car accident in Mahabalipuram in which her best friend Vallichetti Bhavani was killed and Yashika sustained multiple fractures. She subsequently faced multiple court hearings; a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued in March 2023 after she failed to appear for a hearing.
