
Tharshan Thiyagarajah (born 17 September 1990 in Jaffna, Sri Lanka) is a Sri Lankan Tamil model and actor. He completed his schooling in Jaffna and subsequently earned a B.Tech in Software Engineering from the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT), Colombo. After graduating, he worked as a software engineer at Virtusa in the United States for five years, declining an offer to transfer to Australia in order to pursue his dream of a career in modelling and acting. Returning to Sri Lanka, he entered the Mister Sri Lanka International competition in 2016 and won the title, which launched his modelling career. He relocated to India in 2017 and quickly became one of the most sought-after faces in Tamil Nadu, appearing in print and television commercials for major South Indian brands including Pothys, Malabar Gold, and Sri Kumaran Thanga Maligai. He made his acting debut in the Tamil film Verenna Vendum (2018). In 2019, Tharshan participated in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 3, where his physique, dignity, and measured personality won him a large fan following. He was evicted in the 14th week, finishing fifth overall after spending 97 days in the house.
