
Vanitha Vijayakumar (born 5 October 1980 in Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu) is an Indian actress, film producer, and director who works in Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu cinema. She is the eldest daughter of veteran Tamil actor and politician Vijayakumar and his second wife, actress Manjula. Her younger sisters Preetha and Sridevi are also former actresses, and her half-brother is actor Arun Vijay. Vanitha made her acting debut as a child opposite Vijay in the Tamil film Chandralekha (1995), and subsequently appeared in Manikkam (1996), Hitler Brothers (Malayalam, 1997), and Devi (Telugu, 1999). After a long hiatus following her first marriage, she returned to acting with small roles in Naan Rajavaga Pogiren (2013) and later turned producer with MGR Sivaji Rajini Kamal (2015). Her public life has been marked by multiple high-profile relationships, custody disputes, and well-publicised family conflicts. In 2019, she entered Bigg Boss Tamil Season 3 as a re-entrant wildcard from Day 50, becoming one of the most talked-about personalities of the season. She was evicted in week 12. She later participated in Bigg Boss Ultimate Season 1 (2022) and went on to direct the Tamil film Mrs & Mr (2025).
