
Ramya Pandian is an Indian actress born on 13 August 1990 in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. She is the daughter of filmmaker Durai Pandian and the niece of actor Arun Pandian. Her sister Sundari Divya is also an actress. She studied at Pushpalatha Matric Higher Secondary School, Tirunelveli, and holds a degree in Biomedical Engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University - having previously worked as a Research & Development Analyst and Business Development Manager. She entered films via the Tamil short film Maane Theyne Ponmaane and made her feature debut with Dummy Tappasu (2015). Her breakthrough came with Joker (2016), where she received wide praise for her role as Malliga; the film won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil. She further impressed in Aan Devathai (2018) as a working mother. Other credits include Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam (2023, Malayalam, with Mammootty) and Kayilan (2025). An active TV personality, she was the second runner-up on the cooking reality show Cooku with Comali and served as a judge on Kalakka Povathu Yaaru. In 2020, she participated in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4 and emerged as the second runner-up, the only female finalist that season. In November 2024, she married yoga instructor Lovel Dhawan.
