Aaryan Dinesh Kanagaratnam, widely known as ADK, is a Sri Lankan Tamil rapper, lyricist, record producer, and entrepreneur born on 30 August 1981 in Badulla, Sri Lanka. He grew up speaking Tamil and moved to Trichy, Tamil Nadu for higher education, where he studied Information Technology before returning to Sri Lanka and working as an IT professional and designer. At the age of 23, he was introduced to Tamil rap by Malaysian artists Yogi B and Natchatra, which inspired him to begin writing in Tamil. He started collaborating with local Sri Lankan musicians and in 2004 began recording rap tracks. His career gained momentum through collaborations with music director Vijay Antony on 'Aathichudi' (2009) and 'Chinna Thamarai' from Vettaikaran. He subsequently collaborated with A.R. Rahman on 'Magudi Magudi', 'Maayon', and songs from Simbu's Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada (2016), and with composers Santhosh Narayanan, Anirudh Ravichander, Harris Jayaraj, and Yuvan Shankar Raja. He founded his own record label, Rap Machines, with rapper Sri Rascol in 2019 and contributed to the Disney+ Hotstar original series Ms. Marvel (2022). He is married to Jazmin and has built his stage name ADK from the initials of Aaryan Dinesh Kanagaratnam. He entered Bigg Boss Tamil Season 6 in October 2022 and was evicted in Week 14 as the final public-vote elimination, finishing in 7th place.
