Rachitha Mahalakshmi is an Indian actress born on 24 April 1986 in Bengaluru, Karnataka. She is multilingual, fluent in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, English, and Malayalam. She attended New Carmel English School in Bengaluru and later studied at Seshadripuram Law College. She began her acting career in the Kannada serial Megha Mandala and made her Tamil television debut with Pirivom Santhipom (2011) on Vijay TV, where she met and later married her co-star Dinesh Gopalsamy in 2013. Her career-defining moment came with her lead role as Meenatchi in Saravanan Meenatchi (Seasons 2 and 3), for which she won Vijay Television Awards for Best Tamil Serial Actress in 2015 and 2017. She has appeared in over 25 Tamil serials including Naam Iruvar Namakku Iruvar, Sembaruthi, and Idhu Solla Marandha Kadhai, and in Kannada serials such as Bande Baratava Kala and Subrabatha. Her films include the Kannada movie Parijatha (2012) and the Tamil film Uppu Karuvadu (2015). She subsequently separated from her husband Dinesh. She entered Bigg Boss Tamil Season 6 in October 2022, remaining in the house for 90 days before being evicted in Week 13, finishing in 8th place.
