Bio
Akshatha Pandavapura is an Indian theatre and film actress from Pandavapura, Mandya district, Karnataka. She completed her formal training in theatre and drama at the prestigious National School of Drama (NSD) in New Delhi - India's most respected drama training institution. Her work in theatre earned her the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Supporting Actress, making her one of the youngest recipients of the honour and establishing her as a serious performer from early in her career. In October 2018, she entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 6 as a commoner contestant - one of nine commoners selected through online Voot auditions - and was, at the time, described as one of the youngest contestants in the house. Her NSD training and stage experience gave her a strong sense of observation and emotional intelligence inside the house. She was eliminated in Week 12 (Day 83), finishing eighth.
Winning the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Supporting Actress; her formal training in theatre at the National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi; being one of the youngest Karnataka State Award-winning theatre artists at the time of her Bigg Boss entry; finishing eighth in Bigg Boss Kannada Season 6 (2019) as a commoner contestant.
