Bio
Anee Master (real name Anitha Lama) is an Indian dance choreographer, director, and educator born on 12 June 1993 in Hyderabad, Telangana, to a family with roots in Darjeeling, West Bengal. Her father, an Army officer, passed away when she was approximately six years old, leaving her mother as the sole earner. Due to financial difficulties, she left formal education after high school. Inspired by Madhuri Dixit and Madhubala, she taught herself dance by watching television and then sought training from Mangala Bhatt, a Kathak teacher in Hyderabad, who taught her for free. She first gained attention by winning Dance Baby Dance on Gemini TV as a teenager. She then participated in the reality show ETV Dance 2000. She launched her career as an assistant choreographer, working under Harish Pai Master on 'Naa Pere Kanchanmala', and subsequently assisted leading choreographers on more than 200 films - including working with Bollywood star Salman Khan on Jai Ho. In 2015, she made her debut as an independent choreographer with Jyothi Lakshmi. She went on to choreograph hit songs in Sardaar Gabbar Singh, Loafer, Paisa Vasool, Mahanati (2018), Katamarayudu, Keshava, Agnyaathavaasi, Love Story, and Romantic, among many others, working across both Tollywood and Kollywood. She served as a judge on Dhee Jodi (ETV, alongside Priyamani) and other reality dance shows including Lil Kidz. She founded Anee Dance Academy, which she owns and manages. She has a son named Nikshep. In September 2021, she entered Bigg Boss Telugu Season 5 hosted by Nagarjuna and was eliminated in Week 11 (Day 76), finishing ninth.
