Aravind Kadiyali Prabhakar, known professionally as Aravind KP, is an Indian professional motorcycle racer, actor, and voice-over artist born on 8 December 1985 in Udupi, Karnataka, and currently based in Bengaluru. His father, Prabhakar Upadhyay, gifted him a Yamaha RX 135 after he scored 84.7% in his Class 12 board exams - the condition Prabhakar had laid for buying the bike - which formally began his racing journey. His brother is Prashanth KP. He completed his schooling at T.A. Pai EMHS in Kunjibettu, Udupi, then enrolled at MGM College, Manipal. He began competing in racing events at 19. In 2006, he joined TVS Racing, with whom he built a celebrated national career, winning 17 national titles across supercross, enduro, and rally raid events - including the Gulf National Championship Super Cross (2012 and 2014), Fox Hill Super Cross, Cavalry Super Cross in Sri Lanka (2013), and multiple other wins in India and Sri Lanka. He also competed in motocross events in Andorra (2010), the Baja Aragon Rally (2017), the Silk Way Rally (2018), the Merzouga Rally (2018 and 2019), and the Morocco Rally (2018). In 2012, he sustained a severe leg injury in Sri Lanka that was nearly career-ending, but TVS Racing renewed his contract in a show of faith. In 2019, he completed the Dakar Rally held in Peru, finishing 39th among 140+ finishers - becoming only the second Indian (after C.S. Santosh in 2015) to complete what is widely considered the world's most demanding motorsport event. He received the Sports Star Aces Special Award for Sportsman of the Year - Motorsports (2019). His film career includes voice-over work in the Kannada film One Time (2016) and an on-screen cameo in the acclaimed Malayalam film Bangalore Days (2014, directed by Anjali Menon, featuring Dulquer Salmaan). He has also performed motorcycle stunts as a body double for MS Dhoni in a television advertisement. He participated in the Mahindra XUV700 24-hour endurance challenge, which set a national record. In February 2021, he entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 8, where his story of resilience and sporting excellence made him one of the season's most respected personalities. He finished as the first runner-up on 29 August 2021. After the show, he began a relationship with fellow contestant Divya Uruduga; the couple starred together in the Kannada film Ardhambardha Prema Kathe (December 2023).
