Aroh Welankar is an Indian actor, playwright, and screenwriter born and raised in Pune, Maharashtra. He began his career as a theatre artist, establishing himself as a skilled playwright before transitioning to films. He is a fervent dog lover with two pets named Whiskey and Scotch. He is married to Ankita Welankar; the couple were featured on the cover of Sakal Tanishq Magazine in 2018. He made his Marathi film debut with Rege (2013, directed by Abhijeet Warang), a critically acclaimed dark thriller. For this performance, he received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award (presented in 2012 ahead of the film's release). He subsequently appeared in Essence of Pandanus (2015), Ghantaa (2016), and Hostel Days (2018). He launched his YouTube channel Rangaart in 2015. In 2019, he ran the 'i-Vote' initiative during the Lok Sabha elections, helping citizens find their voter registration details. On Day 55 of Bigg Boss Marathi Season 2, he entered the house as the second wildcard contestant in a dramatic entry where - as part of a pre-planned creative stunt - he entered by enacting a fictional 'murder' of fellow contestant Neha Shitole. He spent 43 days in the house and finished as the 6th place finalist on 1 September 2019.
