Asal Kolaar, born Vasantha Kumar P. in 1996 and raised in Kasimedu, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is an Indian Tamil rapper, lyricist, and singer. He completed a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering before pursuing music full-time, inspired by independent Tamil hip-hop. He rose to prominence through the Atti Culture music label, which promotes Tamil grassroots rap. His breakthrough track 'Jorthaale' (2020), co-created with rapper OfRo who is also known from the Casteless Collective, accumulated over 30 million YouTube views and nearly half a million likes. He went on to provide playback and lyrics for Tamil films including Bachelor (2021, dir. Sathish Selvakumar), Gulu Gulu (Santhosh Narayanan), and Coffee With Kadhal (Yuvan Shankar Raja). Other notable songs include Baby Gurl, Kaavaa Ulla, Mustaache Vestaache, and Asal Mob. He entered Bigg Boss Tamil Season 6 in October 2022 as one of the youngest celebrity contestants. He was evicted in Week 3 as the first celebrity elimination, finishing in 19th place.
