Milkuri Gangavva (గంగవ్వ), affectionately known simply as Gangavva, is an Indian actress, YouTuber, and social media icon from Lambadipalli village in Karimnagar district, Telangana. Her exact date of birth is unknown even to her, as no records were kept; most sources estimate she was born around 1960-1964. She is a school dropout, having studied only up to the first grade. Her parents died when she was three years old and she was raised by her grandparents, who arranged her marriage at the age of five. By 26, she had given birth to four children (three daughters and one son, though one daughter later passed away). Her husband, an alcoholic, passed away some years ago. She worked as a daily wage farm labourer, grass cutter, and beedi roller to support her family. In 2012, her son-in-law Srikanth Sriram launched the YouTube channel My Village Show to document rural Telugu life. Gangavva began appearing in his videos and became its defining personality. Her 2017 reaction video Village Internet Problems went viral, catapulting her to fame. The channel crossed 1 million subscribers in 2019, earning her a Gold Play Button - one of the first Telugu rural content creators to achieve this. The channel now has 14 million+ subscribers. She has appeared in Telugu films KGF (2018), iSmart Shankar (2019), and Mallesham (2019), and received the Women Achiever Award from the Telangana Government on 8 March 2020. She entered Bigg Boss Telugu Season 4 (2020) as one of its most senior and beloved contestants.
