Gopika Gopi (born 10 April 1998 in Thodupuzha, Kerala, raised in Muvattupuzha, Ernakulam district) is an ordinary citizen who became a household name in Kerala as the first commoner to participate in Bigg Boss Malayalam. She grew up in a middle-class family in Muvattupuzha, where she works at a courier service agency. She completed up to Class 12 before beginning work. She has two elder brothers, one of whom is named Pavi, and is a single mother of a son named Ambu. She was selected as a contestant for Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 5 through the Airtel 5G Plus Commonman Contest - a first-of-its-kind initiative that allowed a member of the general public to enter the show alongside celebrities. During the season, she shared her deeply personal story of being married at age 19 to a man who turned abusive, suffering physical violence throughout her pregnancy, and eventually separating to raise her son alone. Her mother revealed that Gopika had aspired to join the Indian Army but was not allowed to pursue it. Her courage, honesty, and warm personality resonated with audiences across Kerala. In Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 5, she was evicted in Week 4 (Day 24) after a mid-week eviction vote, finishing nineteenth overall.
