Janany Kunaseelan, also known as Janany KJ, is a Sri Lankan Tamil actress, model, video jockey, and former newsreader born on 27 August 1999 in Jaffna, Northern Province, Sri Lanka. She grew up in Jaffna and completed her schooling at Vembadi Girls' High School before graduating from Jaffna National College of Education. She began her career as a model, appearing in television commercials for brands like Swarnalaya Jewellery and Swarnalaya Sarees. She joined IBC Tamil as a news anchor and food show host, and became widely known for her comedy videos 'Dak Dik Dos' co-hosted with Lakshana. She also worked as a video jockey for Capital TV Sri Lanka. She entered Bigg Boss Tamil Season 6 in October 2022 as a representative of Sri Lankan Tamil media, becoming one of the show's most talked-about personalities. After Bigg Boss, she made her Tamil film debut as Shruthi in Lokesh Kanagaraj's blockbuster Leo (2023) starring Vijay, Trisha, and Sanjay Dutt. She has since appeared in Cooku with Comali and other productions.
