Shatrughan Kumar Yadav, known professionally as Khesari Lal Yadav, is an Indian actor, singer, dancer, and politician born on 15 March 1986 in Dhanadih village, Saran (Chhapra) district, Bihar. He is married to Chanda Devi (married 2006) and has two children. He has been a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal and contested Bihar elections. He began his singing career in the late 2000s and made his Bhojpuri film debut in Saajan Chale Sasural (2011). Over the following decade he became one of Bhojpuri cinema's most dominant stars, appearing in over 70 films and recording more than 5,000 songs — earning the honorary titles 'Trending Star' and 'Mega Star' from his fans. His film Mehandi Laga Ke Rakhna (2017) was a blockbuster, winning him Best Popular Actor (2016 Bhojpuri Film Awards) and Best Actor (Male) and Best Playback Singer (2018 Sabrang Film Awards). He made his Bollywood playback singing debut with 'AK-47' in Koyelaanchal (2014) and has since released several Hindi singles. In October 2019, he entered Bigg Boss 13 on Colors TV as one of three wildcard contestants. He departed from the house within his first month, stating the format did not suit him. He was eliminated in Week 8, finishing seventeenth overall.
