Madhumitha Moses, widely known as Jangiri Madhumitha (born 21 April 1983 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu), is an Indian actress and comedienne who works in the Tamil film and television industry. The youngest of four siblings, she was raised in Chennai by her father Vanna Govindan (a cadre of the AIADMK party) after losing him at a very young age; she was brought up by family. She is married to film director Moses Joel, her cousin, with whom she tied the knot on 20 February 2019. She launched her entertainment career in 2004 through the popular Tamil comedy TV show Lollu Sabha, where her natural comic timing quickly won her a wide fan base. Her film debut came with the romantic comedy Oru Kal Oru Kannadi (2012) alongside Santhanam and Hansika Motwani; her character 'Jangiri' in that film became so iconic that she has been known by that nickname ever since. She has since appeared in over 40 Tamil films, predominantly in supporting and comic roles, including Demonte Colony (2015), Puli (2015), and Kaashmora (2016). In 2019, Madhumitha entered Bigg Boss Tamil Season 3 as a contestant but was ejected from the house in week 8 following an incident inside the house.
