Maneesha K. Subramaniam (born 29 April 1978 in Perambra, Thrissur district, Kerala), professionally known as Maneesha KS, is an Indian actress, playback singer, radio jockey, dubbing artist, and anchor who works in the Malayalam entertainment industry. Born to Kanda Subramaniam and C.P.S. Prakashini (a doctor), she has an elder sister Nadasha K. and two younger brothers, Aidith and Vidyuth. She attended St. Augustine's Girls High School, Muvattupuzha, followed by Marthoma College for Women, Perumbavoor (pre-degree), and Vimala College, Thrissur (graduation). She trained in Kadhaprasangam, mime, and mono act during her school years. After graduation she moved to Dubai and launched her career as a radio jockey, working with Malayali music industry figures East Coast Vijayan and K.P.K. Vengara. She is a founding member of Asianet Radio, the Dubai-based Malayali radio network. After more than eleven years in Dubai she returned to India to work with All India Radio (AIR) in Thrissur, receiving a B-high grade in the Lalitha Gana category. She received her singing training under Ananthapadmanabhan and Araikal Nandakumar. Her acting debut came with the Mohanlal-starrer Thanmathra (2005), directed by Blessy, and she has appeared in over 17 Malayalam films including Rasathanthram (2006) and Ennum Eppozhum (2015). She gained immense popularity as Vasavadatha in the long-running Mazhavil Manorama sitcom Thatteem Mutteem (from 2012), in which her screen 'son' Aadhi is played by fellow BB5 contestant Sagar Surya. She won the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Award for Best Female Singer in 1997, the Kerala Kesari Award for Best Playback Singer, and the 24 Frames Global Award for her acting in Thatteem Mutteem in 2022. She was previously married to musician Sheen George; they have a son, Nithin, and a daughter, Neerada (also an actress). In March 2023, Maneesha participated in Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 5. She was evicted in Week 5 (Day 34), finishing sixteenth overall.
