Meera Mithun (born Tamizhselvi Mani, 6 December 1987 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu) is an Indian model and actress who works in Tamil cinema. The daughter of civil engineer D. Mani, she grew up in the Chetpet neighbourhood of Chennai. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Microbiology from Ethiraj College for Women and a Master's degree in Biotechnology from SRM University, later working briefly as a medical data analyst before transitioning to modelling in 2013. Her modelling career began with a show for the wedding saree brand Co-Optex, and she went on to win multiple beauty titles including Miss Face of Chennai 2014, Miss Madras 2015, Miss Tamil Nadu 2016, and Miss South India 2016 - becoming the first woman from Tamil Nadu to win the latter in 15 years, though she was subsequently stripped of the title by the organisers. She made her acting debut in the Tamil film 8 Thottakkal (2017) and later appeared in Thaanaa Serndha Koottam (2018) directed by Vignesh Shivan. In 2019, Meera Mithun entered Bigg Boss Tamil Season 3 as a wildcard contestant, becoming one of the season's more controversial housemates. She was evicted in week 5 after 32 days in the house.
