Nirmala Chennappa is an Indian actress, film director, and dubbing artist from Karnataka. She is one of the rare women in Sandalwood who has worked credibly on both sides of the camera - as a performer and as a director. Her most celebrated acting work was in the Kannada film Thallanna, for which she received the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actress - one of the state's highest recognitions in cinema. Beyond acting and directing, she has also worked extensively as a dubbing artist, providing voice performances for characters in Kannada films and television serials. She is credited across all three disciplines in multiple Kannada productions. In February 2021, she entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 8 hosted by Kiccha Sudeep as one of the original contestants. She was eliminated in Week 2 (Day 13), finishing nineteenth.
