Sakshi Agarwal (born 20 July 1990 in Almora, Uttarakhand) is an Indian actress and model who works predominantly in Tamil cinema. She grew up in Chennai, where she attended Good Shepherd Convent School. She holds a gold-medal-winning B.Tech in Information Technology from St. Joseph's College of Engineering (affiliated with Anna University) and an MBA from Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Bangalore. After graduating, she worked as a marketing consultant at Tata Consultancy Services and later Infosys. A chance appearance at a friend's charity fashion show led to a modelling recruiter approaching her; she left Infosys in January 2013 to pursue acting full-time. She is also the only South Indian actress to have completed a course at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Los Angeles. She has appeared in over 100 print and television commercials. Her acting career began with small roles in Kannada and Tamil films from 2013. She gained recognition with a role in Pa. Ranjith's Kaala (2018) as the Hindi-speaking daughter-in-law of Rajinikanth's character, and subsequently appeared in Viswasam (2019) with Ajith Kumar. In 2019, she participated in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 3 and was evicted on Day 48.
