Bio
Shamanth Gowda, popularly known as Bro Gowda, is an Indian actor, singer, YouTuber, content creator, and director born on 25 December 1995 in Bengaluru, Karnataka. His father is Jaykumar Hiremath and his mother is Mangal Jayakumar; he has two sisters, Shubha Arun and Shruti Vinay. He completed a diploma in Mechanical Engineering at Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College, Bengaluru, then pursued an interior design course at the same institution before studying further at PESIT University, Bengaluru. During his college years, he worked part-time at a tea stall to supplement his income. He is fluent in Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, and English, and is an avid dog lover. He launched his YouTube channel BroGowda Official on 31 August 2011, initially posting singing and acting content. He began his acting career in 2014 with Kannada short films and played supporting roles in several Kannada TV serials, including Lakshmi Baramma. In 2018, he created and launched the web series Virgin Boys on his YouTube channel, featuring actors including Dhanush Raj, Ganesh Poojary, Sindhu Raj, Rachita Shetty, and Nisarga Gowda. He also directed short-form comedy vines. He appeared in the Star Suvarna serial Rukku in 2020 and has released original songs including Kannolage, Maareya Laage, and Ninne Kaadide. He is currently part of the Colors Kannada serial Bhagyalakshmi in a lead role. In February 2021, he entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 8. A creative highlight of his stint was the song Maleye Suri - written by him inside the house - which was personally appreciated by host Kiccha Sudeep, who produced and released it on YouTube. He also publicly revealed a crush on co-contestant Divya Suresh. He married Smitha on 28 April 2019 before his Bigg Boss stint. He was eliminated on Day 111, finishing seventh.
