Shariq Hassan is an Indian actor born on 7 December 1994 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He is the elder son of Tamil actor Riyaz Khan (who has appeared in 300+ films across Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and other languages) and actress Uma Riyaz Khan. His younger brother is Shamshad Hassan, and his grandmother is actress Kamala Kamesh. He is of Islamic faith. He attended A.V. Meiyappan Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Chennai. He is a national-level football player. He made his Tamil film debut in the mystery thriller Pencil (2016), playing the antagonist alongside G.V. Prakash Kumar - the role was widely appreciated. He spent time in Saligram pursuing cinema opportunities, and later signed for the film Uggramm and appeared in Jigiri Dosthu (2023). He participated in BB Jodigal (2021) with dance partner Anitha Sampath. On 8 August 2024, he married his long-term girlfriend Maria Jennifer (who is a single mother to a daughter named Zara) in a traditional Christian wedding. In 2018, he participated in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 2 where co-contestant Aishwarya Dutta was the subject of his affections. He was evicted in Week 7 (Day 48), finishing 13th. On the show, he became one of the youngest contestants.
