Shefali Jariwala is an Indian actress, model, and dancer born on 8 September 1983 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and raised in Mumbai, Maharashtra, into a Gujarati family. She completed her schooling in Mumbai. She passed away on 27 June 2025 due to cardiac arrest at the age of 41, survived by her husband Parag Tyagi. She became a national sensation overnight with her sultry dance in the Punjabi pop music video Kaanta Laga (2002), featuring Party on singer Daler Mehndi's relative Himani and popular for the catchy hook — the song was one of India's most searched and most replayed videos of the year and gave her the identity as the 'Kaanta Laga girl'. Her Bollywood career includes Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Pyaar Mein Twist (2005), Sins (2005), Dhamaal (2007), Tum Milo Toh Sahi (2010), and Hate Story 3 (2015). On television, she appeared in Nazar (Star Plus, 2018–19) and Barrister Babu (Colors, 2021–22). She entered Bigg Boss 13 (Colors TV) in October 2019 as the fourth wildcard contestant, after monitoring the other contestants through the 'Secret Room'. She was eliminated in Week 17 (Day 113), finishing ninth overall.
