Shivin Ganesan is an Indian transgender model and actress born in 1996 in Devakottai, near Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu. Her birth name was Ranjan; she changed it to Shivin after coming out as a transgender woman. She completed a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked as a customer service representative at HCL Technologies, Chennai, before pursuing modeling full-time. She also volunteered as a teacher with the NGO Teach for Change. After facing significant hardship - including rejection and isolation from her family after disclosing her gender identity - she built her career through modeling and beauty pageants. She was crowned Miss Trans Star India in 2021 and Miss Equality World India in 2022. Her mentor in the pageant world was transgender model and actress Namitha Marimuthu. In October 2022, she became one of the few transgender contestants in Bigg Boss Tamil history, entering Season 6 as a commoner. Her courageous story and authentic personality resonated with millions of viewers, and she finished as second runner-up in the finale. She made her acting debut in the Tamil film Chill Chill Manamae (also known as Pagal Kadhal) in 2024.
