Sreerama Chandra Mynampati is an Indian playback singer, music composer, actor, and television host born on 19 January 1986 in Addanki, Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh, into a Telugu Brahmin family. His father is a High Court advocate, and his mother is a homemaker. Despite having no musical background at home, he first performed on stage at age eight, encouraged by his uncle, and went on to receive formal Carnatic vocal training at Sri Bhakta Ramadasa Music College in Marredpally, Secunderabad - completing a five-year certificate course. He completed his schooling at St. Andrews School, Bowenpally, Secunderabad, and earned a B.Tech from the Royal Institute of Technology and Science (RITS), Hyderabad. He began competing in regional singing contests from 2004, winning the Ananda Ragam Contest (2004), qualifying for the Delhi Finals of Sangam Kala Group (2006), finishing as a finalist at ETV's Sye Singers Challenge (2006-07), and winning ETV's Okkare competition in 2008. His national breakthrough came when he won Indian Idol Season 5 (Sony TV, 10 March - 15 August 2010), defeating 130 participants to be crowned by Amitabh Bachchan, receiving ₹50 lakh, a Tata Winger car, and a one-year Sony BMG contract - becoming the first South Indian to win the show. The Andhra Pradesh state government honoured him with the Lata Mangeshkar Award. He performed at the closing ceremony of the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi alongside Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, and Sunidhi Chauhan. He finished first runner-up at Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star 2 (2012) and third at Asian Idol (2008). He has sung over 150 songs across nine languages, with notable Telugu credits including 'Nachchavura' (Badrinath), 'Anaganaganaga' (Oh! Baby), and 'O Rendu Prema Meghaalila' (Baby) - the last winning the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer - Telugu (2024). His Bollywood playback career includes 'Subhaanallah' (Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, 2013), 'Fikar Not' (Chhichhore, 2019), and 'Allah Duhai Hai' (Race 3). He made his acting debut in Jagadguru Adi Shankara (2013) and later appeared in Papam Pasivadu (Aha, 2023). He hosted the first season of Telugu Indian Idol (2022). In September 2021, he entered Bigg Boss Telugu Season 5 hosted by Nagarjuna and finished as the second runner-up on 19 December 2021.
