Umadevi Maria is an Indian actress from Narsipatnam, Visakhapatnam district, Andhra Pradesh. She built a long career in Telugu cinema and television over many years, appearing primarily in supporting, side-role, and negative character roles across numerous Telugu films and daily soaps. Her film debut was with Sorry Aunty, and she continued to appear in various Telugu productions in smaller capacities. She gained significant mainstream television recognition through her role as Bhagyalakshmi - a character with notable dramatic dimensions - in the hit Star Maa serial Karthika Deepam (2017-), which became one of Telugu television's most-watched programmes. In September 2021, she entered Bigg Boss Telugu Season 5 hosted by Nagarjuna as one of the oldest and most experienced actresses in the lineup. She was eliminated in Week 2 (Day 13), finishing eighteenth.
