Rituparna Sen, better known by her screen name Rii Sen, is an Indian actress and costume designer born on 26 July 1978 in Calcutta, West Bengal. She began her career as a freelance model and television actress, appearing in serials such as Ekhane Akash Neel and Tithir Otithi. She is best known as a leading figure in alternative Bengali cinema. Her breakthrough came with Qaushiq Mukherjee's controversial art film Gandu (2010), which was screened at over 20 international film festivals including Berlin, despite being banned in India. She followed this with Bishh (2009), Cosmic Sex (2014) — for which she won Best Actress at the Osian's Cinefan Festival — and other independent films. She is the long-term partner of director Qaushiq Mukherjee (Q), with whom she has collaborated across multiple projects. In 2016, she participated in Bigg Boss Bangla Season 2 on Colors Bangla, finishing as the second runner-up.
Critically acclaimed alternative Bengali films Gandu (2010) and Cosmic Sex (2014), for which she won Best Actress at the Osian's Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema; also known by her screen name Rii Sen.
