Tehseen Poonawalla is an Indian political analyst, entrepreneur, civil rights activist, and television personality born on 23 January 1984 in Pune, Maharashtra. He is the brother of businessman Siddharth Poonawalla and the brother-in-law of politician Robert Vadra (the spouse of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra), placing him at the edges of India's most prominent political family's extended circle. He has built a career as a frequent panellist on national news debates, offering independent and often contrarian political commentary that has made him a well-known face on Hindi news television. Alongside his media career, he has been involved in civil rights activism and entrepreneurship. His outspoken criticism of all political parties — including both the BJP and his in-laws' Congress — has positioned him as an independent commentator. In October 2019, he entered Bigg Boss 13 on Colors TV as a wildcard contestant — reportedly the season's highest-paid contestant. He was eliminated in Week 6 of his stint, finishing eighteenth overall.
His high-profile career as a political commentator and civil rights activist featured regularly on national news debates; being the brother-in-law of politician Robert Vadra (husband of Priyanka Gandhi), making him a peripheral figure in the Gandhi family's extended social circle; his outspoken criticism of the Indian National Congress and BJP alike; being Bigg Boss 13's reported highest-paid contestant; finishing eighteenth in Bigg Boss 13 (2019–20) as a wildcard contestant.
