Diana Hayden is an Indian actress, television host, and model born on 1 May 1973 in Hyderabad, into an Anglo-Indian Roman Catholic family. She attended St. Ann's High School, Secunderabad. Her parents separated while she was in school, after which she began working at age 13 for an event management company called Encore in Hyderabad, where she started modelling. She later trained at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London and Drama Studio London, which gave her strong grounding in theatre and screen acting. She subsequently worked as a Public Relations Officer in London. In 1997, she won Femina Miss India World and then competed at Miss World 1997 held in Seychelles, where she was crowned Miss World — becoming only the third Indian woman to win the title (after Reita Faria in 1966 and Aishwarya Rai in 1994). She won three sub-titles during the pageant — Miss Photogenic, Miss Asia & Oceania, and the Spectacular Swimwear award — making her the only Miss World titleholder ever to win three sub-titles simultaneously. Her acting career includes a role in the South African film Othello: A South African Tale (2002), the Bollywood film Ab... Bas! (2004, as Somiya Mathur), Tehzeeb, and Loving Doll (2012). She has also hosted television programmes. In 2018, she made headlines when the then-Chief Minister of Tripura publicly questioned her beauty — a remark that generated national outrage and support for Hayden, who responded with dignity. She has publicly stored her eggs for future fertility use, pioneering an open conversation about reproductive health for Indian women. She married British businessman Collin Dick on 13 September 2013; they have three children. In September 2008, she entered Bigg Boss Season 2 as a wildcard contestant (Week 5). She was eliminated in Week 12, finishing sixth.
