Rahul Mahajan is an Indian reality television personality and former commercial pilot born on 25 July 1975 in Maharashtra. He is the son of Pramod Mahajan — the late senior BJP leader and former Union Cabinet Minister who was shot dead by his brother in April 2006 — and the brother of Poonam Mahajan, BJP MP from Mumbai North-Central. His high-profile family background, combined with his colourful personal life, has kept him in the public eye since his father's assassination. He trained and worked as a commercial pilot before pivoting to a media career post his father's death. His first major public appearance was as a contestant on Bigg Boss Season 2 (Colors TV, 2008), where he became one of the season's most entertaining and discussed personalities for his energetic personality and flirtatious behaviour with the women in the house. Just days before the grand finale — along with co-contestants Raja Chaudhary, Ashutosh Kaushik, and Zulfi Syed — he climbed the wall to exit the house, which technically disqualified him from formal competition, though he was brought back and given the Aveo UVA car as the 'Bada Dilwala' (most generous housemate) special prize. He subsequently hosted the swayamvar reality show Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega (NDTV Imagine, 2010), in which 17 girls competed for his hand in marriage — culminating in India's first ever live-broadcast wedding on reality TV, to 25-year-old Bengali model and actress Dimpy Ganguly (married 6 March 2010; divorced 2015). He appeared on Bigg Boss Halla Bol (2015) and Bigg Boss 14 (2020). He has been married three times: to Shweta Singh (2006–2008), Dimpy Ganguly (2010–2015), and Natalya Ilina (2018–2023).
