Dr. Aditi Govitrikar (born 21 May 1976 in Panvel, Maharashtra) is an Indian actress, supermodel, MBBS doctor, and psychologist. She is the sister of model-actress Arzoo Govitrikar. She was married to Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala (1998–2009, divorced); they have two children. She is also a dedicated Vipassana practitioner and PETA India supporter. She began modelling at a medical college weekend getaway on a friend's rooftop, where an amateur photo shoot led to her discovering her potential. She won the Gladrags Supermodel Contest in 1996, subsequently completed her MBBS, and then won Gladrags Mrs. India in 2000 — later winning Mrs. World 2001, becoming the first and only Indian woman ever to hold that title. From 1997 to 2004, she was among India's highest-paid supermodels while simultaneously maintaining her medical practice — an unprecedented combination that earned her the Hindustan Times 'Beauty with Brains' moniker. She has also starred in high-profile music videos for Adnan Sami & Asha Bhosle and Jagjit Singh. Her film credits include Thammudu (1999, Telugu), Paheli (2005, dir. Amol Palekar — India's 79th Academy Awards entry), Bheja Fry 2 (2011), De Dana Dan (2009), and Smile Please (2019). She participated in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 1 (2008). She endorsed global luxury brands including Chopard, Fendi, and Harry Winston, and launched PETA India. In October 2009, she entered Bigg Boss Season 3, lasting 74 days before being evicted in Week 11, finishing 5th overall.
