Sonu Patil is an Indian actress and journalist from Bagalkot, North Karnataka. She built an early career working as a journalist at a Kannada television news channel before transitioning into acting and auditioning for Bigg Boss Kannada. Coming from interior North Karnataka rather than the entertainment industry heartland of Bengaluru, she was widely celebrated as one of the season's most authentic commoner contestants. In October 2018, she entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 6 as the very first contestant to step into the house - introduced first by host Kiccha Sudeep at the grand premiere - and participated as one of nine commoners selected through Voot's online audition platform. She was eliminated in Week 7 (Day 48), finishing fourteenth.
