
Anu Joseph (born 23 December 1985 in Kasaragod, Kerala) is an Indian actress and trained classical dancer who works in Malayalam film and television. The daughter of Raju Joseph and Susamma, and sister of Soumya, she grew up in Kasaragod before moving to Ernakulam (Cochin) to advance her career. A Kalathilakam award winner at her school's Youth Festival, she performed Kadhaprasangam and classical dance with the Kalabhavan dance troupe, which led to her first television opportunities. She debuted on screen in the Malayalam film Paadam Onnu: Oru Vilapam (2003), directed by T.V. Chandran, and launched her TV career with the serial Chitralekha on Surya TV. She subsequently appeared in numerous serials including Minnukettu (Surya TV), Makalude Amma, Aalilathaali, Snehachandrika (Asianet), and Pazhassi Raja. Her breakthrough role came with Karyam Nissaram (Kairali TV, 2012-2017), a family sitcom in which she played the memorable lead character Advocate Sathyabhama across more than 1,000 episodes. In films, she appeared in supporting roles in Vellimoonga (2014), Sapthamashree Thaskaraha (2014), Pathemari (2015), The Great Father (2017), and Sherlock Toms (2017), among others. She won the Best Actress award at the Adoor Bhasi Cultural Forum Awards (2016) for the telefilm 12 Vayassu and at the Kalasamskrithi Awards 2016 for Karyam Nissaram. In April 2023, she entered Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 5 as a wildcard contestant in Week 5. She was evicted in Week 10 after spending 36 days in the house, finishing eleventh.
Playing Advocate Sathyabhama in the long-running Kairali TV sitcom Karyam Nissaram (2012-2017), which ran for over 1,000 episodes; her TV debut in Surya TV's Chitralekha; Malayalam films The Great Father (2017) and Vellimoonga (2014).
