Omar Lulu (born Omar Abdul Vahab; 30 October 1984 in Mundur, Thrissur district, Kerala) is an Indian film director and screenwriter who works in the Malayalam film industry. He studied at De Paul School and completed an engineering degree in Electronics from the Royal College of Engineering & Technology (RCET), Chiramanangad, Thrissur, where he met his wife Rinshi, who was his classmate. After graduation he was active as a leader of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) in Kaiparambu before entering the entertainment industry as a director. His debut film Happy Wedding (2016), starring Sharafudheen, Soubin Shahir, Siju Wilson, and Justin John, was a commercial success that completed a 100-day theatrical run and grossed approximately ₹13.7 crore. It was followed by the college comedy Chunkzz (2017), which grossed over ₹20 crore worldwide. His third film, Oru Adaar Love (2019), made Priya Prakash Varrier a national sensation through a viral clip of a wink scene from the promotional song 'Manikya Malaraya Poovi', and became the first Malayalam film released simultaneously in four languages (Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil) in over 2,000 theatres worldwide, becoming a box-office hit. His fourth film Dhamaka (2021) and fifth film Nalla Samayam (2022) followed. In April 2023, Omar entered Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 5 as the second wildcard contestant. He was evicted in Week 6 (Day 42), finishing fifteenth overall after 18 days in the house.
