
Mamathi Chari is an Indian actress, television anchor, radio jockey, and author born on 4 February 1978 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu (the Big Brother Fandom wiki lists 14 October 1980 as her birthday; multiple sources confirm February 1978). She was born and raised in Chennai. She launched her career in 1993 as a television presenter on Vijay TV's talk show Hello Tamizha. She subsequently worked across multiple TV channels (Raj TV, Star Vijay) and radio stations, notably hosting Big Vanakkam and Big Alarm on 92.7 Big FM. She appeared in TV shows including Jillunu Oru Jodi, Rani Maharani, Jillunu Oru Challenge (in which contestants furnished empty rooms), and returned to screens in the Sun TV serial Vani Rani in a negative role. She is a judge on TV Stars (Vijay TV) and is known for being fluent in 10 languages including Russian and German. She authored the book Old Madras and Its Diverse Sides. She is also an animal welfare advocate. In 2018, she participated in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 2 and was evicted in Week 2, finishing 17th as the first eviction of the season.
