Kavin (born Kavin Raj, 22 June 1990 in Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu) is an Indian actor who predominantly works in Tamil cinema. He grew up in Trichy and later pursued a B.Sc. in Chemistry at Loyola College, Chennai, before dropping out in his final semester after being selected in a Star Vijay audition. He made his television debut in the college edition of Kana Kaanum Kaalangal and rose to widespread fame playing the character Vettaiyan (Saravana Perumal) in Saravanan Meenatchi Season 2 (2014-2015), for which he won the Vijay Television Award for Favourite Actor Male. He transitioned to films with small roles in Pizza (2012) and Indru Netru Naalai (2015) before taking his first lead role in Natpuna Ennanu Theriyuma (2019). Post-Bigg Boss, he starred in the critically acclaimed Lift (2021), followed by the blockbuster romantic comedy Dada (2023). He married Monica David on 20 August 2023. In 2019, Kavin participated in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 3, becoming one of the season's most polarizing and popular contestants. On Day 93, he chose to walk out of the house accepting a INR 5 lakh prize, finishing sixth overall.
