Chandan Shetty is an Indian rapper, singer, lyricist, and music composer who works in Kannada films and music. Born on 17 September 1989 in Shanthigrama, Hassan district, Karnataka, he grew up and did his schooling in Sakleshpur. He completed his PUC at St. Philomena's College, Puttur, and earned a BBM degree from Vidya Vikas College, Mysuru. After briefly working at a call centre in Mysuru, he entered the Kannada music industry in 2012 as a lyricist and assistant music director for the film Alemari under music director Arjun Janya. He went on to work on films including Varadanayaka, Power, Chakravyuha, and Bhajarangi. He gained widespread fame as a solo artist with his debut song Halagode, followed by popular singles like 3 Peg, Chocolate Girl, Tequila, Fire, and Bad Boy. He has penned over 30 songs and sung more than 45 tracks in his career. In 2017, Chandan won Bigg Boss Kannada Season 5, taking home the winner's trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 50 lakh. He met fellow contestant Niveditha Gowda in the house, proposed to her on the Yuva Dasara stage in October 2019, and married her on 26 February 2020.
