Ganesh Venkatraman is an Indian actor, model, and television host born on 12 April 1980 and raised in Mumbai, Maharashtra. His family has roots in Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu. He completed his education in Mumbai and initially worked as a software engineer for two years. His passion for performance led him to modelling, and he won the prestigious Gladrags Manhunt Mr. India 2003 title, later finishing in the top five at the Supermodel International contest in Istanbul, Turkey. He made his film debut in the Hyderabadi comedy The Angrez (2005), followed by his breakthrough in Tamil cinema with Radha Mohan's acclaimed family drama Abhiyum Naanum (2008), playing Trisha's Punjabi fiancé. He received the Edison Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Unnaipol Oruvan (2009) - the Tamil remake of A Wednesday - alongside Kamal Haasan and Mohanlal. He went on to appear in Kandahar (2010) alongside Mohanlal and Amitabh Bachchan, Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru (2013), Thani Oruvan (2015), and Varisu (2023). He hosted Vendhar Veetu Kalyanam (2014) on TV and appeared in the Amazon Prime web series Sweet Kaaram Coffee (2023). He married actress Nisha Krishnan on 22 November 2015. In June 2017, he entered Bigg Boss Tamil Season 1 as one of the original contestants. He finished as Fourth Runner-Up on 30 September 2017.
